Matching Gifts
Many employers have matching gift programs for charitable contributions made by their employees. Gifts from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. Check with your employer to see if your donation to Lubuto Library Partners can be matched.
Donor-Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund (DAF) provides donors with a centralized charitable giving vehicle. It allows philanthropically inclined individuals, families, and corporations to make an irrevocable charitable gift to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program (for example, Fidelity Charitable) and take an immediate tax deduction. Most sponsoring organizations of DAFs accept cash equivalents, securities, and certain other assets.

Stock Contributions
Gifts of stock or other appreciated assets yield a profound benefit for the communities we serve and are often a better option for realizing the tax benefits of your giving. IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are 70 1/2-years-old or older and have a traditional Individual Retirement Account (IRA), an IRA rollover is a savvy way to make a gift and support Lubuto. IRA charitable rollovers give you the opportunity to transfer up to $100,000 each year without it being treated as taxable income. For your gift to qualify:
You must be 70 ½ or older at the time of your gift.
The transfer must go directly from your IRA to Lubuto Library Partners.
Your total annual IRA gift(s) cannot exceed $100,000.
Your gift must be made to Lubuto by December 31.
Your gift must be outright. IRA Charitable Rollover gifts to donor-advised funds or life-income vehicles, such as charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts, are not allowed.
Please contact your IRA Administrator to ensure that all necessary steps are completed to finalize your charitable distribution. We also encourage you to consult with your tax advisor when considering this type of gift.
Bequest Contributions
A bequest involves providing a gift to Lubuto in your will and is one of the simplest ways to support the organization’s future.
To leave a bequest to Lubuto Library Partners, please use the following language: “I give, devise, and bequeath [insert amount or name of gift] to Lubuto Library Partners (EIN 13-4294962) located at 5614 Connecticut Ave., NW, #368, Washington, DC 20015.”
Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designation
Changing your beneficiary designation to include Lubuto Library Partners is as simple as filling out a beneficiary form from your plan provider. You may receive significant tax savings by naming a charity as a beneficiary of your retirement plan rather than a non-charity.
