Programs for children with disabilities
Lubuto Libraries strive to continue to better serve their communities. Many additional programs have been, and will be, developed based on the specific needs of community members. Here are examples of just some of these targeted programs:
Programs for children with special needs
Lubuto Library programs are designed to serve all children and youth. Special programs are developed to accommodate young people with both physical and learning disabilities. Some examples include:
Digital literacy programming and technology focused on blind and visually impaired youth
Staff and community trainings to better address disabilities
Outreach targeting the deaf community and sign language story time, which is held three times a week
Services offered to non-hearing-impaired children and families who are excited to be able to better communicate with their friends and family members
Technology and sign language resources for the hearing-impaired
